    This was by far the worst vacation I have taken. I have been to this resort 3 other times with my husband And never had an issue, however this time was terrible. After checking in and looking at the room we saw there was no fridge which we specifically requested for medication, I spoke to the front desk and was told the resort only had fridges in the ocean view room( not true I have been in three rooms previously all of which had fridges NONE of which we ocean view) I requested a new room an was informed the resort was full but they would let us know when a new room was available. After three days of following up with front desk staff we just dealt with the fact that nothing would be done to accommodate us( even though we were multiple repeat customers) Aldo this was the only time the food was inedible. It was very limited in selection and often didn’t look prepared well. We were here 10 days and during that time heard of 40 people becoming very ill. We were with three other couples all 6 of us got violently ill. Speaking to many other people on the resort this was a wide spread issue. We spoke to guest services and were told it would be noted but who knows what was really done with the information. I have previously said to many people this was a great resort but after this visit would never recommend it again. They have gotten very ax in there customer service since they renovated and don’t seem to be concerned at all about the guests staying here

    Disappointing after lots of research.

    As I was planning our vacation, I read many reviews. There were mixed reviews, but it seemed like a good smaller resort for what we were looking for. First of all, this resort is not a 4 star like it is noted. It is also far from the word “upscale” that was used to describe it. Check in was easy and we were happily brought to our room in the middle of paradise. The resort is gorgeous, but we quickly noted the smell of sewerage that seemed to be bubbling up on the lawn areas. We were brought to our room that was supposed to contain a king sized bed with plush bedding. We got to our room to discover 2 full sized beds that were more like glorified cots. Not comfortable at all. The air conditioning worked our first night, but did not work for our remains 6 nights. It would have been lovely to open our balcony door to let the nice breeze in and cool off our room, however, our particular room was missing the screen and mosquitoes would come in. The drains did not drain, which was annoying since the shower is part of the bathroom... no separation, so when you tried to get ready at in the mirror, the floor was soaked. The cleaning staff was very friendly, but it would sometimes take all day to get new towels and toiletries. You could get them, but you had to go ask. We ventured to the pool area, which was very nice and clean. The beach was gorgeous and the constant kite surfers were fascinating to watch. No problems with this part of the description. The food was okay. Some nights were better than others, but nothing to write home about. The Mexican restaurant was good and the staff was very friendly. The other restaurants were so-so. The entertainment staff had great personalities and really tried to get things going, but most of the time they struggled to get people involved. The games and shows were not great and actually kind of lame. On the 3rd day of being on this resort, 3 out of the 4 of us were severely sick. After a couple of days of being sick, it became apparent that 1/2 of the resort was sick. It was so bad that we had to see the medic. We were told it was probably from the water that they have in the bubblers around the resort and serve at dinner. This was shocking to us. We know not to think the water in the Dominican, but the water that is served by the resort should be safe! In any event, our trip was derailed by the sickness for 3 full days and then nobody dared to eat or drink for the remaining days and were never able to go on excursions. At the end of the day, I would not recommend this resort. We were very disappointed.

    Horrible start to vacation

    Whats supposed to be a “superior” garden room with the king bed had barely 10 inches on one side to walk around it and maybe 15 inches on the other side. No dresser. There is a cubby of shelves in the closet. The bathroom is about 4‘ x 6‘ and that’s being generous. there is no door for the shower so the water comes right out onto the floor in front of the toilet and out into the walkway which is the slate floor. After complaining about the room being so ridiculously tiny that there wasn’t even somewhere to put a suitcase on, we did get upgraded to a larger room with one king bed the following day at 1 PM, nearly 24 hours after check in on Valentine’s Day. We were also told that any dinner reservations have to be made in the morning and because it was 3 PM when they finally allowed us to check into our room, we were not allowed to pick a restaurant for dinner on Valentine’s Day. So between the food at the buffet being passable but not anything amazing, the wine both red and white tasting like vinegar or gasoline, and the room being absolutely tiny and the inability to check in for over an hour from the time we got there to have the room ready... so we started looking at Airbnb options instead I complained to guest services which is when they arranged to have us see a larger room the next day and also, amazingly enough, then found us a dinner reservation at one of the three on-site restaurants. The irony of it’s too late in the day, you need to make the reservations in the morning, there’s no room to have you eat dinner there tonight.... but after I started to explain that were looking at an Airbnb and try to get out of this booking we then magically get given a dinner reservation for 6:15 PM on Valentine’s Day There was no more than six couples in a 15 table restaurant on Valentine’s Day. I’ll be lucky if I even ever come back to the Dominican republic and if I do I would never ever ever stay at a Wyndham resort again Suzana.

    Over booked and bad food

    The hotel outside was really nice, very good location. However the hotel was overbooked and they bounced us to another resort where the room was better , but location and beach was not. Overall the food is not good and we ate offsite most of our trip.

    The pool could be cleaner staff is so so, food ok if you like beans lentils navy beans black beans pinto beans all stewed some way. Rice has been made 4 different ways. It seems what ever you have for supper it’s made into a soup the next day. We hear that there have been 40 people reported sick, my husband were as well but did not report. Our Transat rep is never at his desk, we spoke to him once to arrange an excursion. This place is not one I would make a return visit to
