    Wonderful Stay but...

    The good: The resort was wonderful, the food was very good and the campus clean and well kept. The staff were excellent, friendly, and always available. Our butler Danilo, besides being always there, deserves much thanks for helping us with a problem we were having with airport transfers. Yocardi P, a star friend was a real treat because of her wonderful personality and interactions with the guests. Masks were always worn by staff, and guests were required to wear them while selecting food at the buffet. The shows were good and performed outside rather than in the theater. The beaches and pools were clean and well maintained. The CDC required COVID test was provided free and onsite 3 days prior to departure. The government of the Dominican Republic provided free health care, hospitalization, treatment, and reimbursements for ANY medical problem one might have during their stay, not just COVID related care. A REAL PLUS! The (mildly) not so good: All of the frozen drinks (Pina Colada, strawberry daiquiri) were very weak in flavor as if they had been watered down (not the alcohol but the sugar and coconut flavor) so much so that we and most guests would not drink them. This is our 14th stay at an Iberostar and those drinks have always been our favorite. Not anymore. Other drinks however were all good, Mudslides, Mai Tai, rum & coke, Bloody Mary. A minor negative so they still get a 5 star from me.

    I just recently returned from a stay at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro. I am a travel consultant and have been to many resorts, and this was by far, one my favorites! The service is unbeatable! From the butlers to the bartenders to the waitstaff! Our Butler's, Leo & Cesar, were wonderful! The food is also some of the best all-inclusive food! The rooms are all suites and the decor is beautiful and traditional in style. The resort has a great layout and is the perfect size! We did have to take the COVID-19 test, in order to return home, and it was super easy. The resort coordinates it all and does the testing right on property. They also provide you a copy of your results, which you get back within a day. The resort did a fantastic job with cleaning and staying on top of safety protocols! This definitely gives one peace of mind while traveling and the other guests were also respectful. Staff always wore masks and there was plenty of sanitizer available. The beach is also hard to beat!!! It's fairly private, since there is nothing on one side of the resort. I also love the exchange privileges, so we were able to go next door for restaurants and entertainment. There were 2 singers that were just out of this world....Jannis and Bianco were the best. Some other names to mention, thank you to the wonderful staff, Andrew, Braulio, Ery, Dawel, Marlon, Armando, Ruth & Maria from Amstar. I cannot wait until I can return to your beautiful resort!!

    Our vacation at the Iberostar Grand Bavaro was very nice. We stayed 10 years previously at the Bavaro suites-and the Grand is an absolute upgrade! We received free ground transportation as part of the cost, and W2M was waiting for us upon arrival. The Iberostar complex is quite beautiful, and extremely well landscaped. We were greeted at the entrance to the Grand, and brought immediately to the Conceirge desk for check-in. We booked a standard suite, and were upgraded at arrival to a second-floor room, overlooking the main pool area. The room and the view were very nice. The Club Staff (Cynthia, Darlyn Diez Acosta, & Yineiry “Gigi” Santana) were extremely professional, friendly, and responsive to any and all of our requests. they had our first five nights reservations for restaurants made for us upon arrival, and were able to ensure that everything we wanted in our room was indeed there. Our primary butler was Leo-who simply was outstanding. We saw him it seemed like every day of our stay. He would rotate between dayshift and evening shift-and always made sure to check to see if we had any requests. He ensured that we had sufficient espresso pods for our espresso machine in our room daily; water bottles; Coke Zero; and great white and dark chocolate bars. We are beach people – so we spent the entire 11 days on the beach. The prestige beach staff including Ferman, Manual, & Misael ensured that we never went without a drink, drinking water, or shade in our beach palapa. They assisted us daily for all of our needs, while at the beach. We always get asked “ what is one tip that you would give to someone coming to this resort for the first time“? We always try to find individual waiters and waitresses – treat them well-tip them well – and look for them at each meal. On our first day at lunch, we encountered a waiter by the name of Ismael Martinez- and we were fortunate enough to have him wait on us for lunch each of the first 7 days, as well as multiple evening dinners at the Ala Carte Restaurants. He was superb! We also had exemplary service at the meals from Erbin, Loraine, Marlon, Nelson, Poche, Yary, and Gleny. At the evening meals, we were fortunate enough to sit outside in a very pleasant restaurant patio-and the weather and service were nearly perfect. We will have great memories and great friendships have come from this vacation. Tomas, Elizabeth, and Sujeidy were fantastic at the mail lobby bar. Ely was great at pool bar.

    an unforgettable experience that I would like to repeat again. the service, the quality are top notch.our butler always attentive to every detail. the room very comfortable. an exquisite and varied gastronomy.

    Awesome experience. My birthday was the best. Our butler(Staling) set my room up with rose petals as i walked in the room. My bed was beautifully decorated with rose petals as well as a bubble bath with rose petals in it. It was amazing!!. We had a wonderful dinner with champaign. They really made me feel special. The entire Iberostar team was great. We made long-lasting friends in Armando and Ruth our dance instructors and activity help. I really love the way members are treated. Darlin in the star prestige was extremely helpful and friendly. I love this place and will come again. The service here is awesome!!!
