    I booked a one night stay with my bestie (in my bubble of course) to have a night away and just hang out. The hotel was nice and clean and when we got to our room it was absolutely spotless! We appreciated this during these COVID-19 times. My only complaint is that we did not get any swimming pool time. I appreciate that one has to book times - but for the price that we paid for the room, we were upset that we could not book an hour of swimming. For this reason, I would not take my kids due to the fact that we may not get some pool time for the high price of the room. We are grateful for the upgrade of free parking and also late check out at 5pm.

    One of the best stays in a Hotel !

    We stayed for 2 nights in early September. And everything was just excellent. From the underground car park, to the awesome lobby and check in process. We had the signature harbour view room, and what a view it was. Absolutely breathtaking. This is a property which takes Covid 19 precautions seriously. Every guest is required to wear a face mask. Every surface was being wiped down meticulously. Room service for in room dining was great, the presentation and food both were excellent. But in the end, what makes Fairmont worth the price is the service and the quality of staff. Every team member is eager to help with a smile, very professional and they go out of the way to make sure you are 100% satisfied.

    Ismael and Franklin Stars of Visit

    As always, An absolute pleasure to stay at the Pac Rim. Ismael from the Lobby Lounge and Franklin from the Concierge Desk made our stay feel equal (if not, better) than home. Thank you again to both gentleman for going above and beyond for over 10 days of exceptional service. The true Fairmont experience. We will be back. Best, M

    Better hotels in Vancouver

    We stayed at the fairmont pacific rim for three nights in August 2020. Everything was going smooth until the last minute of our stay. When we booked the reservation on fairmont’s website we were having trouble booking three nights, it kept having an error. So we did two nights with the Canadian resident deal (free parking and a room upgrade) and then I booked the next level up room on Expedia for the third night. Two days into our stay we went to the front desk to let them know we essentially had two separate reservations. We chatted with Nicole, she was very nice and she told us that she would take care of the room key, keep us in the same room and we were good to go. Unfortunately the next moour room key didn’t work, our complimentary wifi stopped working because our member number wasn’t transferred over. We saw Nicole again and she fixed the room key issues and said everything was transferred over and we were good to go. Nothing was mentioned about my car or anything like that. They took my license plate the first day to register it for parking. The last day as we were leaving we saw a parking ticket for $55 saying “car not registered through hotel”. So I went up to the front desk and talked to Hannah. Hannah was extremely rude about it and just said there is nothing we can do, I explained to her that the fairmont explained to me that everything was transferred over from the first reservation. She acknowledged that I had free parking but said there was nothing they could do and really didn’t seem to care at all. Not let me see what I can do, not let me chat with a manager because you are clearly visibly upset just “no there is nothing we can do”. The take away I got from this is even with everything going on and with almost all hotels at their lowest occupancy rate worldwide since the Great Depression, the fairmont pacific rim just doesn’t care. On this trip we stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Vancouver, the Fairmont Whistler, the Fairmont Lake Louise, the Fairmont Victoria and the Pan Pacific. Every single hotel showed how much they cared and how much they wanted future business. If there was ever an issue, a manager dealt with it and made sure the stay was amazing. At the fairmont pacific rim it was the exact opposite. Twice the price of all other hotels but half the customer service. When looking for a hotel in Vancouver, I would say look elsewhere. There are so many hotels that will do anything to have your business and make your stay absolutely amazing. I wish the fairmont pacific rim cared a little more.

    I apologize this is going to be fairly long, but I rely on reviews a lot when choosing hotels so hopefully it can be helpful for some. :) We stayed at the FPR several times before and always had a great time but I was unsure how Covid would be impacting this particular stay. We just spent a full week in July and stayed in a Stanley Park Suite. The suite is absolute phenomenal. Obviously the views are superb, every detail is well-thought of and is truly luxurious in every way. The housekeeping team was very rigorous as the suite was pristine daily upon our return. The basic room amenities were provided and upon request, we easily and promptly got the additional ones we needed. The suite was equipped with full hygiene kits including masks, sanitizer, etc. Essentially, the service was flawless; every staff member we encountered was friendly, professional and helpful. We were asked more than once during our stay if we were enjoying everything. We had no issues/delays when phoning Guest Services from the room. They reserved restaurants for us and assisted with various questions. The lady at check-in was great, she was very thorough with necessary information and closures in effect. As there was a little bit of a heat wave that week and we always enjoy spending a lot of time at the pool, we were fairly apprehensive about the pre-booking system in place that only allows paying guests to reserve 75 minutes per day, per room. It turned out to be working really well and seemed fair overall. Pool attendant Ariel was spectacular. His service and friendliness all week made a huge difference and seeing him manage the logistics of the pool waiting list and people demanding special treatment was impressive and incredibly professional. The food & drinks we ordered at the pool were excellent. The driveway pop-up patio was fun and the food from the bbq amazing. Great to have the live music there as well. Giovane was up to par every time we ate there and it was nice to be able to buy items from the boutique. (We did miss the classic Sugar Bombs treats haha). Gym was open and spotless every time we used it. The one and only negative point for us that was very surprising and disappointing, was the fact that some non-guests were allowed to use the already very restricted pool facilities. Many times, guests could not be accommodated because of the limited space/time so hearing several "guests of guests" dropping by to join them didn't feel right.. Ultimately, I would strongly encourage familiarizing one self with what is closed/not available or adjusted to the current situation before booking, to avoid any disappointments or surprises. We never felt that they used Covid as an excuse, they were well prepared and seemed to tried their best to accommodate regardless of the limitations. We are grateful that they were open and they provided an amazing vacation for us. I completely recommend staying there and we can not wait to go back!
