Perfect stopover hotel.

Excursion509359 on Apr 14, 2024

This was overnight layover … Toronto to Hawaii. Perfect stopover with departures directly outside the hotel entrance. (You will need to walk some distance to get to hotel from bag pickup at arrivals.) Airport luggage carriers were at the hotel checkout. (Consider taking one to your room after checking in.)

Loved the view and Nespresso Machine

BSandBN (Mississauga, Canada) on Apr 12, 2024

We stayed at the Fairmont Vancouver Airport on the last day of our trip in April 2024. It was so nice to drop the rental car off at the airport and walk in to the hotel. The stress was so much lower knowing we just had to walk downstairs for our airplane the next day. The front desk was so kind when we checked in, they offered the two kids to choose a toy from their toy wagon. Well that was already a win. The elevators worked quickly and our room was impeccable. We viewed the airport and that was a fun night the whole time. We booked the two queens room and the windows are huge. The bathroom was spotless and the kids loved the big bathtub. A highlight for us was the pools. There are 3, one biggish pool one kiddie pool and a hot tub. I liked that they were all warm. It was a quick stay but very enjoyable and I'd go back in a heartbeat. The Nespresso machine was a high plus for mom and dad.

Wake up call was missed/not entered - almost missed our flight

Kelli L (Vancouver Island, Canada) on Apr 11, 2024

We chose the Fairmont because it was at the airport. We were arriving late and catching a connecting flight in the morning. I requested a wake up call for 6:30 am. I woke up at 6:50 am. We immediately jumped out of bed got dressed and gathered our things to try and catch our flight, which was boarding at 7:20 am. The wake up call got dropped/missed and we almost didn’t make our flight (5 mins to spare). We had eaten at the pub in the hotel and they “gifted” us $50 credit towards it.

Wonderful place!

Antonina_Nina_M (Osoyoos, Canada) on Apr 11, 2024

Amazing place! We were visiting Fairmont Vancouver Airport at night on April 8th. The facilities are amazing! Including essence of the shower amenities and aroma coffee. However, the most impressive part of our stay was a check in experience. Front Desk Associate treated Myself, my Kid and my Husband as a Top VIP Guests. Even we were visiting place for the first time. She provided full explanation about the Hotel, assured us that we would have a playpen delivered to our room and bell boy service. Which was done promptly after our check in. She is exceptional Team Player in this place. I wish to see more people like her in hospitality industry. We end up confirming that it will be our place to stay next time while visiting Vancouver. Thank you very much for your service, Ailline . Apologies if I spelled the name wrong, biu she was only one person at the receythat evening. Thank you very much for the pleasant stay!

Relaxing Gold Level Stay

Sarah M on Apr 11, 2024

We had a one night stay gold level and it was a lovely experience. My son and I drove to BC from the prairies and my husband was flying out to meet us to continue on the trip to Victoria. It made sense to stay at the Fairmont YVR for ease of connecting with him when his flight arrived and for my son and I to be able to relax when we arrived. When we arrived, we pulled up to the valet area and unloaded and had our suitcases taken away by valet (hotel carts are only for valet use although presume we could have used an airport cart). It was a good thing we did as the parking area was quite a ways away - we had to loop around the entire parking garage, then go in the bottom level and up to P2 and P3 where you can walk back to the hotel. It is definitely manageable but something to think about if you have lots of luggage or mobility concerns. Check in at the lobby was easy. The front desk clerk explained where everything was, gave us the free drink coupons my husband gets for his Silver status, and took the tag to have our luggage delivered to our room. My son and I went up to relax and have enjoy some of the evening canape's and a drink. The theme was asian that night and had a mix of asian inspired appies including pork ribs that my son said were fantastic and sushi as well as an assortment of cheeses. The room was so nice - comfortable, quiet and very luxurious. The welcome airplane cookies were very cute. After my husband arrived, we went to the Jetside Lounge for supper. We all had burgers (2 regular, one with a gluten free bun and one veggie). All were excellent and very good size burgers. The veggie burger was a homemade patty (and absolutely delicious) which was a win for me as veggie burgers are all too often a fake meat style pre-made burger. The server was very knowledgeable and checked on my sons gluten free status based on the request for a gluten free bun - since he was celiac they did do the fries in a separate fryer and didn't coat them in flour like the regular fries are. We made it up to the Gold Lounge for the evening desserts that they have between 8 and 9 or 9:30pm. They were super small portions (literally 2 bites) but really good. There was an orange creme brulee that was SO good and I believe a cheesecake that night. They probably could upsize the desserts slightly. We had a great night sleep and were all amazed at how quiet it was for being at the airport - we were on the parking lot side as they do not appear to have runway view rooms in a double queen gold level. Breakfast the next morning was the only weak spot in my opinion. They had the standard gold level assortment of an egg dish, a meat dish, a potato dish, oatmeal, yogurt, juice, baked good etc. I am going to assume we hit an off day, but in spite of it being busy but in no means slammed with people, pretty much everything was out on rotation - my son went up for a couple more sausages, they were out. My husband went for a yogurt, that was out. I went for coffee, no coffee. All ended up getting refilled but just seemed a bit disorganized. But my biggest issue with breakfast was the baked goods - they were just your average not that fresh pastries (muffins, crossaints, bagels, bread) that you'd find at an 3* hotel chain free breakfast. After several stays at the Fairmont Palliser Gold Level in Calgary where the baked goods are all fresh in the morning, that was a let down. All in all it was a great stay and I would 100% stay again if it works out that we need a hotel in Richmond even if we weren't using the airport too.
