Outdoor Activities

Barbados’ National Stadium is a multi-purpose facility, which was opened in 1970. It is the home of track and field, cycling and football. The stadium hosts many local and regional sporting events for children, adults and seniors. Many Olympic hopefuls from the Caribbean have their start at events at Barbados’ National Stadium. The VIP stand of the stadium is named for a pioneer in organized sports, Mr. Louis Lynch. Adjacent to the stadium is a netball stadium and shooting range, which is managed by the Barbados Rifle and Pistol Association. The stadium is also a venue for large-scale entertainment events, including some of the annual Crop Over carnival events and concerts by international artists. - Marsilyn Browne
