Estadio Augusto César Sandino is a baseball stadium and the base of the Villa Clara Naranjas. Named after a Nicaraguan revolutionary, it is one of the best places in town to catch a baseball game. This grass surfaced stadium was designed by Gustavo R. Arnavat and Emilio Castro and opened its doors in 1966. It was the precursor of many stadiums in the country. It has held some major international baseball tournaments in the past and also hosted concerts by Caribbean artistes.
