A little way away from the city center, the Cross of Sacrifice stands as a somber reminder of the tragic fate of those who did not survive the air crash that claimed 256 lives in 1985. The salvaged remains of the emergency door of the DC8 were recycled to create this memorial. Note the inscription 'Rendezvous with Destiny' that's carved on the cross. Walk amidst the trees, each one planted in tribute to the fallen, and pay a silent homage to the victims and their surviving families.

Location:  Trans-Canada Highway, Commonwealth War Graves Commission Cemetery/Peacekeepers Park, Glenwood
