Little Red Riding Hood is a famous story for children, the earliest known versions of which date back to the Middle Ages. First published in 1697 by Charles Perrault, the story's protagonist is a young girl who goes to visit her grandmother and encounters an evil wolf, who is said to symbolize dangers of the forest. The tale has been adapted into numerous stage productions.
