The National Gallery of the Cayman Islands, founded in 1996, shines a light on the wonderful world of Caymanian art. In addition to sponsoring local artists to travel abroad, the gallery hosts six to eight exhibitions every year at its headquarters to celebrate the visual arts. It is home to an impressive permanent collection, which showcases everything from painting, sculpture, and traditional craft to digital art, mixed media, and assemblage. Also found at the National Gallery of the Cayman Islands are a modest gift shop and beloved art library. Check the website for more information on upcoming events and exhibitions.
