Constructed in 1911, Forbes Homestead is one of the oldest surviving log structures in Grand Prairie. Also known as the Reverend Forbes Homestead, the one-and-a-half-story structure has a claim to fame beyond its age and architecture: it was the first hospital to service the residents of the remote city. Other parts of the building were used as a residence by the Forbes family, explaining its titular dedication. The landmark estate was completely restored to its former glory in 2010, and today, Forbes Homestead offers exhibits showcasing its rich history.
