Outdoor Activities

Situated on the banks of the Wapiti River, O'Brien Provincial Park is one of the city's most picturesque spots. During warmer months, this park is drenched in hues of green with the towering balsam poplars painting a breathtaking landscape. The dried river bed turns into a playground for children to have fun, while the adjoining paths are perfect for a hike across the wilderness. As winter sets in, O'Brien Provincial Park sees a surge of visitors looking forward for some fun in the snow, as the place is perfect for snowshoeing and cross country skiing. Canoeing and other water activities are permitted on the Wapiti River when the water is calm and friendly.
