Practical Information

The water of Hao is located on the grounds of Kawaiahao Church near the corner of Punchbowl and south King Streets. Legend says that the spring was the only fresh water site in the area. It was reserved for royalty, especially high chieftess Ha'o, who was known to bath there regularly. Today, the spring has been replaced with a lovely fountain in a private garden that incorporates the rocks from the original spring. Visitors are welcome to visit the garden located front of the sanctuary, at the main entrance to the church grounds, which bears the name of the fountain.
