Swan Lake is a ballet composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky that premiered by the Bolshoi Ballet on March 4th, 1877 at the Bolshoi Theater in Moscow. This exquisite ballet tells the story of a beautiful princess, Odette, who is turned into a swan by the curse of an evil witch. It has been one of the most heavily performed ballets since its debut. Inspired by a German legend, this iconic story helped to influence the style and scope of ballet as we know it, touching audiences of all ages generation after generation.
