Practical Information

Built in 1752 as a shrine to the Mayan God Itzimna, the Itzimna Church is now a Roman Catholic church dedicated to Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Now an example of Franciscan architecture, the historic church boasts of a tall bell tower, coral windows, steeples and wooden railings. Lush green garden also surround the 18th-century structure. One of the best religious sights in the city, the Itzimna Church must be visited during your time in Merida.
