Built in 1771 by Jacob Treitz Sr, Treitz Haus is considered to be the oldest structure in the city. Nestled by the riverbanks and near to the Bore View Park, it is now the tourist information center. Its Georgian and early Acadian styles of architecture sets it apart from other buildings in the town. Rectangular in shape, this bi-level, clapboard building has cedar singles and is a listed historic building.
