Corneille is a popular French-Canadian R&B singer. He counts singers like Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke, Nat King Cole, and Al Green among his influences. Born Corneille Nyungura in Germany, Corneille and his family moved to their home country of Rwanda when he was six. In 1994 his parents were killed in the Rwandan genocide—a horrific event that has made him the person and the musician he is today.
