Outdoor Activities

Due to its marshy landscape, it is a refuge for various avian birds, making Hemer Provincial Park a favorable spot among birders. Spread across 93 hectares (229.81 acres), this second-growth forest by the Holden Lake is a mix of Douglas fir, maples and alder trees. During the 19th Century, it was a farmstead and later conserved as a park in the 1980s. Due to its extensive trails, it is a well-known destination among hikers. Canoeing, kayaking, fishing, horseback riding and wildlife viewing are popular activities at this park. There are picnic spots in the area and pets on leash are allowed.
