Outdoor Activities

A sacred place for the Snuneymuxw, Petroglyph Provincial Park is filled with mysticism and folklore of the First Nations. Though the park was founded in 1948, the rock art or petroglyph dates back to more than a millennium and was established to protect this cultural heritage of the area. Though it is a small park, the prehistoric rock art dominating the park makes up for its limited size. Figures of humans, fish and other esoteric creatures will intrigue you. The interpretation zone offers model castings of these petroglyphs in cement.
