What was once a riverbed is now a gorgeous stretch of green foliage that is worth the trip. Fern Gully as the name suggests is made up of over 300 types of tropical ferns and other indigenous plants. Tall trees cover this paved 4.83 kilometers (3 miles) road like a tunnel and only a faint ray of sunlight drops in. This natural wonder is a preserved site and is under the protection of the National Heritage Trust. Take this winding road from Ocho Rios to Colgate for a memorable road trip. Surreal and magical, Fern Gully is a must visit.
