Avenue Foch which is a street, outlined by chestnut trees, is the epitome of French grandeur. The partway runs along the 16th Arrondissement of Paris and was dedicated to Ferdinand Foch who was a marshal and hero during World War I. At one end there is the Arc de Triomphe and at the other is the Bois de Boulogne city park. The Avenue and its famous gardens were both designed by the famous engineer, Jean-Charles Alphand.
