Gare du Nord is a cooperatively run concert hall that specializes in giving a creative and playful space for experimental contemporary artists and musicians. They've been around since 2002, carefully crafting seasonal concert programs which highlight the talents of many local Swiss artists. This venue can really push audiences to think more about the concerts, as many performances have themes or theses underlying the music. The building was built in 1913 as a train station, and provides an atmosphere of classical sophistication, which can both enhance and contrast the experimental performances in interesting way.
