One place where locals and travellers congregate for a good time is the Boulevard. The attractive, red-stoned walkway is one of the city's most beloved destinations - a place where families go to relax and enjoy each others' company. Almost 3 km long, the Boulevard is one of the city's most popular gathering places for people of all ages. The street is also where Puerto Plata residents party.

Long Beach along the Boulevard is a popular place for travellers to hang out with locals - though it's often crowded and hot in the daytime. You can dine at eateries like Tam Tam Café Restaurant and Pizzeria Barco's or have a quick guzzle of refreshing coconut water from one of many vendors in the area. On weekends and holidays, the Boulevard is even livelier than usual, packed with thousands of people.

It can also be just as rewarding to catch the Boulevard during a quiet time. There's still plenty going on, but you won't have to worry about getting a table at a restaurant or a spot along prime beach property.
