As Puerto Vallarta's lovely seaside promenade, the Malecón is a wonderful place for a stroll, day or night. Stop to admire the views from one of the welcoming, white wrought-iron benches along the way. You'll come across both kids and artists building sand sculptures on the beach, as well as many talented buskers.

Sunday night is fiesta time on the Malecón. You'll usually find a band playing in the Plaza de Armas - Puerto Vallarta's main square or zócalo. Even seniors dressed in their finest come out to dance alongside flirting teens and parents holding balloons and ice cream cones for their kids.

Try barbecued corn on the cob slathered with chili-lime butter from a local street vendor and enjoy the pulse of vibrant Puerto Vallarta. When the sun goes down, watch a folkloric dance spectacle in the Los Arcos open-air amphitheatre.
