Since 1952, Lankester Botanical Gardens has been promoting Costa Rican orchid conservation and raising awareness about these fascinating flowers. As part of the University of Costa Rica, the garden organizes open courses where you can learn to grow orchids, use medicinal plants, or learn to identify birds, insects and butterflies. Visitors can also observe local flora and fauna on the 10.7-hectare farm next door. Additionally, via guided tours, you can see other plants, palms and a bamboo collection that is sure to impress.
