Museums & Galleries

Wander the exhibits housed within the Museo de Jade and gaze in wonder at the sparkling jade objects and artifacts on display. Many of the jade artifacts were crafted by native Costa Rican indigenous people using traditional techniques. The collection was acquired by the National Institute of Insurance in 1973. The museum also exhibits pottery and metal works crafted during the same centuries as the jade artifacts. The museum offers guided visits in English and Spanish, in which the guides explain the importance, precedence, and symbols on the pieces.
