Held every November 11th, Remembrance Day commemorates Canada's military personnel and their service to the country. Saskatoon holds a free service on this day that includes opening and closing ceremonies, a choir, and a parade of 2000. Remembrance Day was originally known as Armistice Day, in observance of the date in 1918 when World War I hostilities officially ceased.
