Bowring Brothers, founders of the reputed retail chain of home decor, gifted 20.23 hectares (50 acres) of land to the city for the creation of this park in 1911. Bowring Park finally opened to the public, three years later in 1914. The park features an impressive landscape that was designed by Rudolph Cochius and Frederick Todd. The park is home to beautiful statues, the most popular being the one of Peter Pan. Various recreational facilities are available at this park.
