There are more than 350 species of birds in the region, which makes birdwatching in St. John's interesting, if not exhilarating. Head out by foot or by boat and learn about the puffins, gannets, storm-petrels and other sea birds who call this area home. You'll also find falcons, owls and eagles here. For an interesting spot to watch these feathered friends, head to the Avalon Peninsula region, where you can see up to 18 species of gulls along with numerous other species.
