The Basilica Cathedral of St. John the Baptist is a beautiful cathedral established in 1855. Built with the Lombard Romanesque style of architecture, the cathedral is a part of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of St. John's. The grand structure of the church look simply magnificent and awe inspiring. The congregation is functional even today and regular services and ceremonies like baptisms and marriages are conducted by the church. The basilica also has guided tours which enable the visitors to understand the church's history. The church also has a museum which opened to the public in 1991.
