Attraction

How do you like your beach? Accessible or uninhabited? Caladesi Island and Honeymoon Island are like two sides of a sun-drenched coin where best meets better.

Just up the road from downtown Dunedin's pubs and restaurants, you'll find the coastal woodland trails that wind through Honeymoon Island State Park. Wander down the paths between pine trees, and enjoy the sounds of the osprey (sea hawks) above and crashing waves all around.

Caladesi Island State Park, accessible by ferry, is best for those with the time and interest to seek miles of empty sand. It's been named "best beach in the U.S.," repeatedly because of its wide-open spaces, clear, clean, calm waters and solitude. It's best for those who are willing to hike a bit further to claim some beachfront real estate, if only for one day at a time.
