Busch Gardens was the brainchild of Budweiser magnate Augustus Busch III. When it opened in 1959, it was little more than a brewery and a place to get free samples. Nowadays, the brewery is gone, but the park has more than 2,700 animals and the best roller coasters in Florida. The Sesame Street Safari of Fun is a whole area dedicated to kids just over a metre tall (about 42 inches).

Rated "best zoo in the U.S." by Parents magazine, Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is easy to get around, and its smaller size is ideal for young families. It was. The 1,700 animals are spread out over 59 acres, including the great Florida Boardwalk and Florida Manatee and Aquatic Center. This is like the greatest hits of Florida animals, including manatees, stingrays, alligators and Florida panthers. Bring some extra bucks to feed the giraffes, or take a ride on a camel.
