Hoito means care in Finnish. Opened in 1918, it is probably the nation's earliest co-operatively owned and administered restaurant. Founded to provide affordable, home-cooked food for Finnish workers, it is now a venerable spot for Finnish pancakes and other traditional dishes. Set in the basement of the historic Finnish Labour Temple, it still maintains its quality, service and atmosphere after so many decades. Try dishes like Mojakka, Piirakka, Saltfish Sandwich and Cabbage Rolls. Don't miss out on the desserts.
