Originally intended for the Fort William town in 1902 when Catherine Vickers granted a huge land in memory of her husband, Vickers Park became a part of Thunder Bay since 1970 after Fort William incorporation. Considered to be a show-piece park, it features mature trees and flower beds, giving it a picturesque look. It a coveted place for weddings and photographers. The park comprises of a playground, benches, picnic corners and walking paths. During summers, it hosts many recreational programs. It is also the site of the yearly Teddy Bears Picnic.
