Take a step back into the past as you step into the Ambrosia Cave. Featuring several Indian pictographs dating back to pre-Columbian times, the caves are home to five galleries that are connected to each other. One can find about 72 rock drawings across 300 meters (984.25 feet) of the cave interiors. Representing the ancient Taino culture, the paintings are estimated to be more than 2000 years old and are acclaimed to be one of the biggest collections in the region. Besides giving us a glimpse of the lives of pre-Columbian inhabitants, the caves also served as refuge for escaped black slaves as well as a venue for religious and ceremonial rites.
