Constructed between the period 1835-1838, the structure showcases the typical elements of Cuban colonial architecture. The 19th-century Matanzas house is now one of the city’s most important museums. Visitors can learn about the local history and culture beginning from pirate invasions to modern day slavery. A Statue of Spanish king Ferdinand VII can also be viewed here.
