Outdoor Activities

Varadero Golf Club opened in 1931 as Xanadú Mansion's Golf Course Club House. It was a nine-hole which got destroyed in 1933 and was soon rebuilt in 1936. It was only in 1998 when Les Furber, an acclaimed Canadian golf architect, designed the now 18-hole course, that Cuba got its pioneer 18-hole golf course. This beachfront course with its salt water lakes, sand traps and the sea as one of the water hazards is indeed a challenging ground to play. This scenic course also has an academy for those who want to learn the game professionally.
