What better way to know the regional environment than the Yukon Wildlife Preserve. Spread across 283.28 hectares (700 acres), it covers Arctic and subarctic (boreal) ecosystems in its landscape. From craggy cliffs to wetlands and flat lands and rolling mountains, you can choose to either take a guided bus tour or explore on your own by foot. Both have different charges. Comprising of 11 northern Canadian animals, you can visit their habitats which lies in different areas of the preserve as per their natural terrain. These include species like the Alaska Yukon moose, Canada lynx, wood bison, Rocky Mountain elk and Arctic foxes. If you are there during the feeding schedules, you might get to see more of these mammals together rather than a few.
