Winding through the Fred Henne Territorial Park, Prospector's Trail goes in a loop and takes approximately two hours to complete. The four kilometer (6.4 miles) trail is relatively easy going and gives an interesting account of various rocks found in this region. Explored in the 1930s for gold mining, the trail offers valuable insights for anyone fascinated by petrology as its peppered with a plethora of rocks. A miners cabin marks one head of the trail, while the Long Lake Beach marks the other. There are plenty of signs along the way thus ensuring a delightful hike. Laden with greenery during the warmer months, the trail becomes a cross country ski heaven when winter is at its prime making Prospector's Trail a treat for outdoor enthusiasts all year round.
