Elk + Avenue Hotel

We stayed one night here. After looking at the website we were a little disappointed with our room not matching the photos advertised on the website. It was still nice however it did not have a fireplace or the washroom shown in the photos. Also be ware that it is very loud if your room is facing Banff Ave due to pedestrian traffic outside and vehicles in the morning. We only interacted with the front desk, she was very nice/professional.

Front desk staff very accommodating restaurant was great rooms where cleaned impeccably , great value nice and quiet. Loved the underground parking at no additional cost. The only downside was no bathtub wanted to soak my bones

Place was clean, updated, and extremely accessible. The only problem is that the amenities is not easily available in the room. No microwave, only espresso machine, one tea bag and no stir sticks. The reason we needed accommodation is that I got surgery and I needed minimal contact outside as the pandemic is still going on. We opted to order in/pick up our food but we would’ve appreciated a microwave in the room. The microwave is in the lobby and is quite far. My mom also like to drink coffee and enjoy it but they only had an espresso machine which gives a shot of coffee so she didn’t drink it. Lastly, we decided to just have tea in the morning but there was literally only one tea bag and had to share it. Overall though, the receptionist was extremely accommodating, they responded quick to our request of more pillows, the place was accessible and was in downtown banff that you could easily park your car in the hotel and just walk around the beautiful town.

We have stayed here before and have loved it. We were a little disappointed with the staff when checking in. Had the room booked as a gift there was issues with them charging the credit card that we didn’t have. The bedroom ceiling was dusty and there was gross stuff on the ceiling and up top on the wall. Suggest bigger pillows for a king size bed.

Overall bad experience. The location is good. But the room is not soundproof. You can hear next door very clear. The room we stayed has absolutely no view even though I wrote a note in my reservation. It seems like nobody care your reservation notes. Room is not clean, if you will have to stay in this hotel, use your own wipe to clean table and desk!
