A must stay if you’re visiting Disneyland

We have stayed here many times and absolutely love it. The service is top notch and the location can’t be beat particularly if you have small kids and are visiting the parks. You can come back for some pool time or a nap to break up your park day. The private entrance into California Adventure makes it very easy to do so. They recently renovated the rooms which were honestly, in need of a freshening up. Rooms are good sized for a family of four and beds are comfy although you’re so tired by the end of the day, you may not notice as you’ll be asleep before your head hits the pillow anyway. Ask for a room with a view of the park if you can as it’s nice to sit on the balcony and people watch or in the early morning and appreciate the quiet of the park before opening. It’s definitely not inexpensive but location, location, location. Happiest place on earth, for sure!

Very Nice Hotel Stay, But There Were Flaws

First, the good stuff. The hotel is very nice and beautiful, (as it should be for the price,) the rooms were clean and well appointed, the concierge food service was excellent and a huge convenience for our family, the early entry into the parks was greatly appreciated and for the most part, the staff was extremely helpful. But, there were some glitches in our stay. First, I asked during the time that I made the reservation for a quiet room. We had booked a 3-bedroom suite to accommodate our entire family and we had paid for it completely in advance. When I asked again at the concierge desk about a quite room, I was given a long song and dance about how our room would get a little noise from Downtown Disney, but that would all be over with by 9-10PM, so no worries. She said quite a few other things to reassure me about the noise that I won't go into, but they were all flat-out lies. (I don't use this term loosely, but there's not other way to describe it.) The noise lasted the entire night...no break at all! From early evening, to early morning there was very, VERY loud music playing from a nightclub, four floors below. The windows literally shook to the heavy beat. No one got any sleep. I complained the next day and they moved us to a suite overlooking the pools. We had to wait all day to use our new suite, because the occupants didn't check out right away. We were comped some fast-passes for the inconvenience, but some of the passes didn't work and it became a big hassle. Second...When I booked our room the agent asked if I wanted concierge service and I said definitely, yes. She added that onto our trip package (about $900) and I paid for the entire package, in full, to Disney Resorts. When we arrived, the concierge said that I was to be charged a second time for the concierge food service because the agent shouldn't have added it on and tried to tell me that I hadn't actually paid for it. (My credit card company would disagree.) Luckily, I had a print out of my reservation that noted that the concierge food service was included, so they took it off and told me it was "comped" to us because of the inconvenience. (But didn't I already pay for it when I made the reservation?) However, when I went to check out they tried to add it back onto my bill at both ends...the reservation end and the hotel end! We finally got it straightened out, but what a pain. If I hadn't been on top of it, we would have been charged a lot of money than we should have been. I felt like I was playing a constant, "shell game," with these people. None the less, I gave this resort 4 stars. It really is a nice property and there are some great perks. Most of the staff is wonderful and you can't beat having both Disneyland and California Adventure Park at your doorstep.

We took our family here to celebrate a big wedding anniversary. Tickets to the Park were part of the celebration. We could come and go, be together or function as separate family units. The concierge level (Club Room) is outstanding for all ages, including the storytime in the evenings.

We Found the room comfortable and clean. We had an odd smell from the shower that we couldn't figure out. Disneyland needs to work on the food within the park, I believe they would be better served if they may an effort to serve more fresh food and less processed foods.

It's all about the location. Worth the higher prices to be right at California Adventure - easy entrance to the park and includes the early magic hour. So key when the littles get tired, it's an easy walk back to take a break or jump in the pool. Love the decor of the hotel; service is prompt; two restaurants downstairs are convenient. Pool area is great, just go before it gets too crowded. Have never used the fitness center, spa or kids club. This last trip was after their recent renovation. If you've never stayed before, I don't think you'd even realize anything or much had been updated. The overall style is still the same. Bathrooms upgraded to nicer tile and fixtures and USB ports in the outlets now. The biggest thing for us was they got rid of the bunkbed + pullout trundle and now rooms are 2 queen with a daybed. Still worked for our family of 5 but not sure why they got rid of the bunkbeds. Our bathroom had shower only, no tub which was also different. Overall, we'd still stay there again!
