This was first time at this hotel. I’ve stayed at grand California before. For the price I think this hotel is the better option. The check in process was easy and the staff was very kind and welcoming. The room was amazing. I upgraded to premium that faces California adventure park and the view was amazing from the 11th floor room. The room was very clean. Three beds (two queen and and easy fold out couch). The bathroom was clean and a nice size. The room has a nice size tv, mini fridge, safe, coffee maker, iron with board, blow dryer and spacious closet with hangers. The park is not a bad walk. From the rear of hotel to main entrance is about a 10-15 minute walk depending on pace. You walk through downtown Disney which is always fun and nice. Plenty of shopping. For a short cut to get back and no one from Disney will stay it but you can cut through the grand California hotel from downtown Disney then cross street to hotel, cuts a couple minutes off trip. The hotel has a deck on 3rd flood to watch fireworks at night. The lobby floor has restaurant which also offers a character breakfast. We had a great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Concierge Service Makes This Place A Great Stay!

This was our first stay during Halloween week at any Disney property. It was a great time and loved the holiday details Disneyland is known for. As with any Disneyland Resort, prices are high. But, it was so worth paying a little more each night for the concierge service. They offered a hearty "continental" breakfast to start a busy day at the parks. Guests can stop by anytime during the day for sodas, beers, and food--usually sandwich stuff and cookies. The price savings is huge, especially for a group of four or more. It was not a bad distance from park entrances, but a wheelchair is recommended for older folks and not strong walkers. We averaged 5-8 miles a day! I love the extras offered by Paradise Pier including the Cel painting. What a unique and fun treasure to do with the older kids or just adults! The other resorts also offered fun special events for any resort guests. We even had a surprise drop-in by Minnie Mouse, Donald and Daisy Ducks as we returned from the parks to our hotel. And, of course, the customer service was amazing! All requests were promptly taken care of. This hotel is highly recommended!

We had 5 nights here in August. We had previously stayed at the Disneyland Hotel and enjoyed our time there and we were keen to see what the other Disney Hotels had to offer. I would say they are on a par in terms of theming. The reception staff were awesome from the moment we walked through the doors we were greeted with smiles and a nothing is too much trouble attitude. Self parking was easy and convenient. We had a room on the 4th floor and found the elevator situation to be old outdated and in definite need of an upgrade, the same goes for the drinks and ice machines that appear past their best. Our room looked out over the pool and on our walk to the room enjoyed the great views of California Adventure Park. The room was clean, tidy and spacious with a few Disney touches here and there. Having a fridge in the room was ideal as we could store milk for breakfast in there ready for a quick breakfast before hitting the parks. The hotel pool was a real letdown with no Disney theming whatsoever and the water was freezing despite a hot August LA day, ran to the hot tub for a warm up. Overall we enjoyed our stay - we didn't have time to eat at the restaurant so can't comment. However it is an expensive option in a very competitive area but if character time and a Disney hotel experience is high on your list the Paradise Pier is worth looking at.

We stayed at the Paradise Pier for three nights when we visited with our two boys for Halloween. The cast members we interacted with were all courteous and very helpful. For what we paid the hotel itself was completely average. We had a premium view room, which gave us a partial view of the CA Adventure Park. Was the upgraded room worth the extra money? In my opinion, no. I just didn't feel that Disney magic. The hotel is somewhat close to the park entrances, being at the end of Downtown Disney. After a long day of standing and walking, it did still feel like a journey. Nothing beats the Californian on location! However, staying at a Disney hotel does come with some perks. The Oogie Boogie Halloween Bash was sold out online for Halloween, but select tickets were made available to hotel guests for purchase the morning of the event. We were also able to build droids in the Droid Depot and have them delivered to our hotel, so we wouldn't have to lug them around the park the rest of the day. We also got Magic Mornings for each day of our stay, which was really nice. Getting into the park an hour early really makes a huge difference. We were able to ride Indiana, Pirates, Haunted Mansion and Thunder Railroad with no wait. It was an alright hotel. If I were to book another Disney Hotel, it'd probably be the Californian due to the location and receiving the same perks.

Really great Disney hotel literally on the doorstep of the Disneyland downtown and the two parks. Room is was a great size and had a magnificent view of the park. Highlight was being able to the see the fountain light show at night as well. Great casual dining option and full buffet breakfast with characters as well. Self parking is easy or you can take the valet option which we went for. For me Disney is all about the parks, this hotel is clean efficient and really close vicinity so will definitely stay there again.
