Pros: Great location and reasonable price for Waikiki. Within walking distance to beach and high end shopping galleria. Room had microwave and small fridge. Breakfast included with lots of options for food. Con: room was dorm sized with little extra room. Coffee and tea not available outside of breakfast hours. One thing to stay away from are the tours that hotel sells. We did the Pearl Harbor tour which essentially was to take us to PH which is a National Park and because the dock is still closed you take a ferry out to look at the memorial from a distance. This is for $115 per person. Save your money and simply take an Uber because we pay for the parks with our tax dollars.

Watch Out For Their So Called "Concierge"

This was to be my husbands first trip to Hawaii as well as our children's first trip so I was really hoping that when I picked this hotel, that it would hit all the points to make it a great trip. We booked a room with 2 queen beds and requested a higher floor. At check in, we were pleasantly surprised to be given a room with a partial ocean view and a view of Diamond Head which was really nice. Great beginning to the stay! The room itself is just what other reviewers had written, small, but in my opinion, it was good enough for what it was. After all, its Hawaii, how often are you in your room? The hotel had also been recently refurbished. For anyone that's been to Hawaii before, this used to be the old Maile Skye Court hotel. Hotel had the standard amenities..There's a pool which was located on the 5th floor. Very small and we had to take 2 elevators to get to the pool since our room was on one of the top floors. Other than that hiccup, towels were plentiful and there were also some outdoor games that the kids could play like a putting green, chess, ping pong, etc... There's also a hot tub on the same level but just like the pool, its also very small. One of the big pluses for this hotel was the fact that they served breakfast daily and that breakfast was already included into your rate. The standard of Holiday Inn Express. At check in, the front desk agent will give you vouchers for the duration of your entire stay. Upon entering breakfast, you will surrender 1 voucher per person attending. None were needed for the kids. The breakfast always consisted of some type of egg (scrambled or omelette form), breakfast meats, pancakes you can make on your own and various other choices. My kids loved the pineapple and mango yogurts that they had to offer. Nice Hawaiian touch added to the breakfast. Get there early as the seats fill up quick. But the staff was always helpful and replenished things promptly. If you sit outside, beware of the pigeons. They will lurk until someone drops a morsel... lol We also liked the location of this hotel because it was within walking distance to the old international market place and nearby restaurants and shopping centers of Waikiki. You can easily get a cab or the trolley pickup is right across the street at the La Croix hotel. So why the 3 star review... Although we enjoyed our stay here, the one big annoyance during the trip was the obnoxious concierge!!! Beware when booking any type of activity here... Although they may be somewhat knowledgeable about the tours and attractions, they have their own agenda which is to push Wyndham time shares. They will offer you a 200.00 credit in exchange for your time of seeing a timeshare presentation that they said was less than an hour. I almost laughed. What time share presentation has anyone been to that's been less than an hour? And it wasn't just one individual too. It was almost all of them. Any time you stopped and inquired, they're breathing down your neck about supposedly saving money by seeing the presentation. I'm sure that while some people may find this offer attractive, I did not. I'm in Hawaii to enjoy my time, not waste my time on some time share presentation. That being said, will we return to the Holiday Inn Express in Waikiki? Perhaps. Good amenities, short walks to nearby restaurants and shops...but will DEFINITELY stay away from that concierge desk..

We enjoyed our stay here. Our room was on floor 22, it was quiet and had a good view towards the beach, we had a great view of some fireworks. The room was small, but well laid out, we even found a good spot for the babies portable cot. The staff were friendly and helpful when required. Location was good, it's a nice walk through parks to the beach. I was disappointed we had to leave before breakfast started, I love a buffet breakfast. i had arranged for cot\crib to be in the room for us, and it wasn't, we didn't actually need it so I didn't bother asking about it.

We initially had requested an “ocean view” room. When we walked in to the room, it was small. My 7 yo and 1 yo could barely walk around. We requested a bigger room, and Jeremy at the front desk happily helped us out and gave us a bigger room, but we sacrificed the beautiful view. Breakfast was good. My picky eater was happy. The pool is a little small, but served it’s purpose. Great location, Close to everything. Over all a wonderful experience. Would stay again.

Very small rooms! Ok for a night or two.

The positives... the staff at this hotel is friendly, efficient and quick to attend to your needs. The beds are comfortable and provide both firm and soft pillows. However, this is the smallest hotel room I have ever stayed in, room 3910 was our room there are bigger ones. I am 5'2'' and my elbows hit both sides of the shower when washing my hair. There is absolutely no counter space in the bathroom. I had to dry my hair outside of the bathroom to avoid hitting walls. The AC... big problem ...loud and right beside the head of the bed. are blasted with air all the time you are in your bed. Due to the size of the room you can only be on your bed. We ended up trying to place suitcases in front of the ac unit to deflect the air. The closet is only about 18 inches wide so even if you are hanging clothes they get squished and need to be ironed. The breakfast is included which is nice but being in Hawaii you should have a bit more fresh fruit to start the day this is a bit disappointing. This hotel is fine for a short stay but not more than a day or two. We walked to the beach each morning through the park so that wasn't too bad but it is a little far from the restaurants in Waikiki for some people.
