Our home away from home

DayTrip284385 on Apr 13, 2024

This was our fifth stay at the Reef and it just keeps getting better and better. We stayed in an ocean front room and it was amazing for watching sunsets every evening. We were introduced to the new Outrigger Platinum Membership and it is absolutely worth the cost. If you plan to visit more than once, do yourself a favour and get the membership. Lots of perks - the Voyager Club for breakfast and afternoon cocktails and appies. We also utilized the complementary pool bed and surf boards included in the membership. All the staff were exceptionally friendly and helpful. We really enjoyed the new Monkey Pod restaurant and the Kani Ka Pila Grill is still an excellent place to enjoy a meal while listen to the live traditional Hawaiian music every night. If you’re looking for a quieter hotel that is just steps away from the action on Waikiki, this is your hotel. We are already looking forward to our next stay.

Serenity in the midst of concrete jungle

SunithaG35 on Apr 13, 2024

Nice location, right next to the beach with good access; resort upkeep is really good looks clean and modern. They have nice activities in the cultural center every day. Special kudos to Cherwin who gave us Hawaiian language tips and shared culture tidbits with us. We got Ocean front rooms with Voyager club access, even if it was more expensive and it was worth it - we were in the middle of a concrete jungle, but felt closer to nature because of this choice. All the staff at Voyager Club are super friendly, kind and helpful - while all are great in general, Frank and Teresa are especially great in making us feel special :-) kudos all! Mediocre

Lucy B on Apr 13, 2024

Not sure it was worth the cost to stay here. We didn't mind paying the high price for a good vacation with the kiddos but Terumi at check-in was not welcoming and did not inform us of any amenities, despite us asking several times. She also took our number but didn't add us to the guest texting .. where we could have been informed of the daily activities. She needs retraining and a major attitude adjustment. Because of this, we didn't find out about the activities included in our stay which would have been AMAZING to know since we had two little kids in tow. We would leave the hotel in the morning and not return until night fall.. just didn't really want to be there. Pool was wildly underwhelming. We spent all our days laying on the beaches and playing in the waves in north shore. Waikiki is overrated. Thanks to Aunty in the cultural center for telling us about the hotel offerings.. even though it was too late by then (our last day). I made a soft complaint to the manager at checkout, Stanley .. but he wasn’t too interested in acknowledging poor communication and reception. He kept telling me how they did things right, despite my direct feedback to him that it was done poorly in our case. Valet guys made up for the poor reception and poor amenities. They were kind and so friendly and helpful, lots of good recommendations to explore. Maybe the valet team should run the entire hotel. Special Shout out to Keven for his Aloha spirit! He was very kind and fun to chat with. Oh yeah, and the monkey pod restaurant off the beach was nice for a view and chill vibes. But that was all we liked really. I was hoping Stanley would have rectified our stay when I complained but he didn’t care. So .. we will take our money and time to better hotels like Sheraton or Ritz Carlton next time.

Outrigger - Great Place to Stay

Michael D on Apr 12, 2024

Great place and great location. The staff (especially Mary) were fantastic. The room was clean and the places to eat on site were great. The pool area was a nice place to hang out. The hotel is walking distance to downtown Waikiki and Honolulu. The only negative was that there is no laundry machines on site. I had to go about a mile away for a laundromat. This is probably not an issue if staying for a week.

Fantastic resort

Melissa B on Apr 12, 2024

Excellent location to shops and restaurants. Stunning views from our room. Beautifully renovated common areas and rooms. My kids loved the pool area and I loved the beach access. Very friendly staff and housekeeping were awesome - special mention to Joanna L who looked after my family and I the 14 nights we stayed there. Would love to visit again one day!
