I have stayed here many times throughout the years and I still enjoy it. The rooms were remodeled a while back and it’s probably time to do it again but it’s still very nice and for what you get the price is pretty good. Great pool and spa area to relax. Definitely will be back.

We stayed here in june for 3 days at the begining of a 3 month trip overseas. Lovely spacious room comfortable large bed and great bathroom. Everything was clean and the only negative was we had to pay an extra $25 per nite for use of amenities eg pool. This was something we were not aware of and even though not using the pool still had to pay. We would stay there again and ate at the international market place around the corner which had a great selection of different meals

We love the Aqua Skyline At The Island Colony in Waikiki, HI. The staff are helpful and friendly. If you are looking for a quality and comfortable hotel, then the Island Colony is just for you. However, if you are looking for an expensive fancy hotel, you should probably try the Ritz, Trump, or Hilton Hawaiian Village. This recently updated hotel sits back on the canal (so it’s a little quieter at night), but, it is only 2 blocks from the beach and right in the middle of Waikiki's best shopping and dining. The Island Colony is the tallest building in Waikiki, 44 floors. The updated, clean, and comfortable studios and one bedroom suites offer well equipped kitchenettes with spectacular panoramic views of Waikiki's skyline, Diamond Head, and the ocean. There is a coffee shop located in the lobby with limited hours. Hotel registration is open 24/7. The 24/7 maned security desk is in the elevator lobby. You must use your room key to enter the hotel/elevator lobby and to retrieve an elevator... this made me feel safe. There is an on-site mini market, laundry facility, Gym, barbecue area, pool, Jacuzzi, and sauna. This hotel has Free WiFi, free movie rentals, and free newspapers. On-site parking is available for a daily fee. Honestly, you won’t even need a Rent-A-Car. But, if you want to venture out of Waikiki, may I recommend just a day use rental car at the enterprise located just downstairs. Everything is pretty much within walking distance. Or, the Aqua Resorts offers a free 30 minute shuttle with several stops in Waikiki and at the Ala Moana shopping center located just outside of Waikiki. Just down the street from the shopping center you can find a Super Walmart and the Convention Center is located about a block away too. Otherwise, The Bus system is very convenient. This hotel does have a Resort Fee now. Also worth mentioning is that the Island Colony management offers guests access to the roof top once a week for free cocktails and appetizers. Also, most of the west facing higher floor rooms are able to watch the free Friday night firework show.

The hotel’s picture make the hotel and room appear to be nicer than what it actually provides. Room service is poor, while checking in, the phones were being ignored. The floors are poorly decorated and seems aged. Effort has been made to add minor upgrades, but the smell from the trash Shute overtakes the hallway. In all, I would have been disappointed to have spent my entire time here while in Hawaii for the first time. Instead, we are leaving after our first stay and finding another hotel for the rest of our stay. The only redeeming saving grace is it’s location; however, I do not see why the place is worth my 285 (Including parking fee) a night. That includes tax, fees and parking.

    Very disappointed

Stayed here in August 2018,first impressions, was looks good, then things took turn for the worse, given card keys to lifts and room, lifts so slow, this was on going. Got to room beds lovely, room looked ok to start with. Air con so loud could not close balcony door at night,(which needed to do with ambulances and police racing but a lot below (we on 19th floor) air con leaked water onto tiles, very dangerous They did have a bucket ina flower pot meant to collect the run off. The balcony roof had bubbles in myabe from the air con not sure, very dated applicances 2 element stove took 45 minutes to heat so we could boil and egg lol. Fridge kept deforsting so water always at bottom of fridgeand the bar where you mput milk inside door kept falling off. Internet really shocking, hardly any service. Room next to garage shute so that was noisey also. No jugs to boil water for cuppa tea, only coffee maker, they dont supply tea either, even thpough it did say it did on booking. doing Laundry a nightmare, buy a card then you have to put money on it, our washing machione did not spin, so had to wringe by hand, so took twice as long to dry in 2 dryers. Balcony welding looked a little worrying so stayed away from the edge lol.... A few roaches running around but not infested. Think needs to be badly updated air conditioning and the kitchen area. Bathroom small but ok. Had to get water from bathroom when we wanted a cuppa (brought the tea ourselves lol) But lovely lady in coffee place downstairs, credit to the place, and one lovely guy on security, and also very central to everything. Planning on going back to Honolulu one day, but unfortuanetely probably would not stay here again, unless it has been updated which if surely needs
