Very nice staff, the Wailea area in my opinion is the best location in Maui for vactions. This hotel has been remodeled and rebranded not too long ago but the resort is spreadout and a challenge to get around to enjoy the amenities. Also lacks the "pop" of the other hotels in this area like the Grand Wailea or the Four Seasons, not to mention the hotel lacks dining choices versus the other hotels. The money is the same as the Ritz Carlton in the Kaanapali area, most would probably enjoy the Ritz better than here , the challenge with the Kaanapali area is that it is located in an isolated area and takes a while to get anywhere else on the island for sightseeing etc.

This hotel was amazing! The property was gorg and I asked for an upgraded room and we ended up with one with an amazing view. And the WHALES.... we saw a ton and even a few that breached. So magical!! Only a few issues... when we first arrived, it started off a little rough. They were so worried about getting cars/guests in and out that they completely forgot to welcome us and allow time to even get out of the car with our luggage. We were instantly yelled at to move by a female manager. I explained that we were checking in and she was a bit nicer. It was our first trip to Maui and to this hotel. And the Starbucks for breakfast was super busy so go early. The property was so beautiful and close to shopping. We did a day trip to the crater and took the other day to drive the road to Hana. The kids loved the water park and one day we ate outside at the pool with live music. All in all, I would go back in a heart beat! This is on par with the Ritz!

We stayed at this hotel in December over New Year's with our daughters ages 10 and 13. We loved this hotel and will return for sure! There were so many activities and amenities that the hotel offered for families, it was amazing! The view from the hotel was amazing! The water slides and kids amenities were super fun and the ambiance of the hotel was fun yet peaceful. Though its kid friendly, by no means were there kids screaming and crying or over-running the property. Pros. Arcade with free games open until 10pm nightly Movie room with free popcorn and punch and water-twice daily movies Big room with sofa bed Welcome lei and free turtle for kids 2 water bottles per day, Free water coolers and free sunblock to use near every pool, free shuttle service, lots of restaurants close by, including shops of wailea walking distance Eggless blueberry and cinnamon muffins at hotel shop along with other snacks Starbucks on property that sells breakfast, and snacks and sandwiches Awesome pools and water slides 2 beaches Free snorkel gear rental arts and craft activities: Make 1 bracelet first day and one lei per guest per stay Map in room that got us talking about Hawaii Good convenience store in hotel with tons of products Mini fridge in Room, microwave on request, we got a very nice welcome basket, giant TV in room Sofa bread in room Check in process very good and fast, they gave drinks and fresh towels, fast service Mobile key for keyless entry into the room Pretty lobby Escape room for charge-was really fun for our family Wailea shops near walking distance to the hotel Courtesy lounge to hang out in for after check out but small showers in the locker room Gym looked really nice but we didn't use it In house photography studio: Blinnk-took amazing family photos! Hotel cons: small crawling and flying bugs in the room Room air conditioning turns off if patio doors are open No recycling. Tiny trash can in room Charge for the kids club Arcade closed at 10pm Tiny bathroom/shower area in the room Very poor lighting in bathroom sink area You can’t win prizes in the arcade or tickets

We had a great week as a family and would definitely come back. Pros: Nice, clean rooms Very friendly staff Beautiful, well kept grounds Beach attendant was very helpful Nice snorkeling Great fish tacos at the Whale's Tale food shack Close proximity to shopping plaza to walk around, buy basic groceries, take out food etc. Cons: Need to walk a bit to get the accessible part of the beach (not a big deal) "Free scuba class" in the pool was disappointing. Instructor seemed annoyed that we didn't want to sign up in advance for going on a dive (that you pay for). Made us wait half the time while she gave a full pool lesson only to the people who had already paid. Breakfast options were limited. Either Starbucks (which had long lines but moved quickly) or the super pricey buffet. We had water leaking into our bathroom from the bathroom above on multiple occasions. Staff was always good about coming and looking into it but shouldn't really be happening on multiple days.
