We are owners and this resort is awesome. We have owned since 2007 and go back every year. The rooms are updated and remodeled every few years. Each room even studio has a kitchen. If stay chose a ocean view or partial ocean view higher floors.

The beach is beautiful. Would recommend buying an umbrella a Costco instead of renting one for $20 a day. We're paying over $3k for our room which is said to be "ocean view". It only has a better view of the highway than of the ocean. The ocean view is entirely block by tree canopy. Our deck is in direct sun unless blocked by a cloud so you can't comfortably enjoy using it. It's November and the sun is at a lower angle but it's still intense and not at all blocked by the deck above. The first morning here the manager at the front desk told me that we could not change rooms because there were no other ocean view rooms available. I went back a few hours later and tried to at least change to a room that had a deck that is shaded. The clerk told me that there are rooms available but it's their policy not to allow guests to change rooms. I don't appreciate having the manager lie to me and I'm not happy that we're paying for an ocean room and only getting an intimate view of a tree.

This is truly a wonderful resort With the best snorkeling reef on the island! Comfortable beds, fully stocked kitchen, very beautiful views and walking distance to shopping and dining. Just wish they had opened the hot tubs and restaurants while we were here

    Nice to be back

We haven’t been here since 2018. We love the renovations. The rooms are beautiful and we like having an oven as we cook in often. Sherry at the concierge desk was so friendly and knowledgeable. She gave us a great tip for a farmers market up in Kula and to grab lunch at Kula Lodge. It was spectacular. Pailolo cafe opened up on Sun and pool service started a few days later. The gym is open and there is an attendant cleaning constantly. There is also a guy cleaning the lounge chairs by the pool. They are doing a good job. They need to add more lounge chairs at the lower pool deck. There is plenty of room to add more lounge chairs and still be 6 ft apart. Of course the lounge hogs are out in force. The management needs to put the kabosh on it as more tourists arrive. At least 12 loungers had towels on them at 7ish. The offenders didn’t show up until about 8:45. If I have ever gotten chairs early, I would read and have coffee and then after awhile run up and get ready for the day. These clowns lay the towels down and take off for a few hours. It is rude and selfish.

Very disappointed owner-services going down with high maintenance fees

I have been rebooking this year vacation 3 times. In Oct, I was told to cancel my reservations closed to 30 days so that my staroption points can be carried over 2021. They now denied to do such carry over, despite their cancellation of the golf tournament in the last minute. I have been the owner since 2006 while their yearly maintenance fees keep going up from $1200 to $2500. I have spent at least 50 phone calls over the last 2 years with numerous issues. Their reservation system and customer services have been going down since Marriott took over, for example this year I spent over 10 phone calls to resolve the additional cleaning fees incurred that I have not spent a night there in 2020. By the way the additional cleaning fee is still on my reservations.
