This hotel has beautiful ocean views and is close to Hindu Monastery where you can relax and peacefully meditate as though you are in a forest. The hotel is clean and provides good service. Nothing fancy. Close to Lihue airport and very convenient.

My husband’s job requires him to do a LOT of traveling. We have been a Hilton-loyal family for years, knowing what to expect from a typical Hilton property. Of all of the properties that we have stayed at (and that is A LOT) the experience that we had at this hotel was among the best that we have ever had. Our room was not quite available at check-in, so the staff held our luggage while we went out to explore for a bit. When our room was ready a very short time later, we were excited to have been upgraded to one of their cottages, which are separate from the hotel itself, having a true bedroom as well as kitchenette. We had amazing service during our entire stay, even having a sweet surprise gift and decorations in our room for being on our honeymoon. I am gluten free and there were plenty of choices for me in the restaurant, with our server Jay Anne even having special pancakes made for me, something she remembered each morning of our visit. The hotel sits right next to Lydgate park and beach which is a great calm beach with a protected area to snorkel or kids to play. It is only about 10 minutes from the airport and pretty much in the middle between Poipu and Princeville. We had a red-eye flight out and they provided us a hospitality room to shower and change clothes before heading to the airport so that we could enjoy the day on the beach. Much appreciated! We would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Kauai and will be returning ourselves soon!

The lobby was so beautiful to walk through with the glowing candles in the evenings and wonderful looking waterfalls that surround it. The breakfast buffet had everything you could want...the fruit on our 3 days was very fresh and tasty...the other choices for a full breakfast changed slightly each day so it was easy to not repeat!!! LOVED IT!!

Cottage 1 bedroom (located in a discreet area with a front yard and back patio overlooking Lyngate Park and the beach. 1/4 mile walk to beach. Staff - Friendly like all locals on the island. Check-In - They gift you and your guests a lei during check-in. You get vouchers for free mai-tai or soda. Parking- free Resort Fee - Yes Location - 10min to the airport; 10min to Kapa’a; 5min to shopping areas including Walmart and Costco; 30 min from Princeville; 10min to Wailua Falls; 1.5hrs to Waimea Canyon and NaPali Coast; and much more Breakfast Buffet ($17) and Daily Made-to-Order Meals ($12) - Complimentary as a Hilton Honors Gold/Diamond Member (Saved $29 daily). Self-serve waffle maker, fresh fruits, scrambled eggs, link sausage, potatoes, rice, bacon, ham, gravy, bread, pastries, fruit juice, and coffee. Would be nice if they had a vegetable area with salad, carrots, etc. Cottage - Feels like home away from home. Clean. Spacious. Private and discreet. Could have been better if they converted the kitchenette (small fridge, microwave, sink, and Keurig) to a full kitchen (full size fridge, stove oven, microwave and Keurig). That would have been wonderful! Private parking reserved for Cottage guests. They need to repave the driveway from the street entrance all the way down to the cottage area. Swimming Pool - small but clean. You’re a few feet from the beach... it’s not crowded and extremely clean with clear water. Why spend your vacation at the swimming pool? Guests - Minus 1 star. During my stay, 8/10 guests were laid back. The rest were obnoxious and annoying. Just annoyed how low people will treat hotel maintenance workers just because they “believe” they’re better. WiFi - Complimentary is capped at 3 Mbps. If you pay $4.95/day or free for Diamond Members, you get 10 Mbps. Laundry Room- Only 3 washers and 2 dryers located in the Maile Building. Inconvenient. Would have been nice if they had one in the cottage area I definitely recommend this property.

    Mixed feelings ...

First, here are the positives for this Inn: 1) the rooms are clean; 2) the staff is very friendly; 3) it is in a centralized location for getting around the island; 4) it’s in Kauai ... and that’s about it. Oh sorry, one more thing ... it is the best location for a sunrise picture. As for my issues with this accommodation; it’s about 20 years out of date ... and the humidity level in the hotel felt higher than outside, which I attribute to all that carpet in the hallways and rooms. The rooms are fine if all you’re going to do is sleep in them. There’s no cushioned mini-couches or chairs, no tables or coffee table, etc. Then there’s the noise level from the monolith in the corner of the room. I’m talking about the air conditioner that is constantly on. It does manage to keep the room cool, but struggles to keep the humidity down. You can turn it off, but then the room gets very warm and very humid. If you a physical disability, make sure you let them know before you reserve a room ... the rooms on the first level can only be reached by stairs ... which is a pain in the a** if you have to lug your luggage. Needless to say, I’ve been to many motels that offer as good, or even better amenities at a fraction of what it cost to stay here. The pool and gym are simply okay. They do offer a price break for a nearby golf course. The beach is about 150 yards away - located in a very popular state park. It’s not really a snorkeling beach, but it’s fine for swimming. The free use of a bike is for only 2 hours on the first day of your stay. There is no tennis court. Yes, there is a daily resort fee added to your bill, which contributed to me feeling a bit underwhelmed about my stay. To be fair, just about everybody on the island charges a resort fee. To avoid this disappointment, do some research to find an accommodation that offers the best amenities and check their resort fees. Finally for me, the biggest annoyance was the morning & evening commute traffic ... it is bumper to bumper between Lihue and Kapa’a. Driving in and out of the ‘resort’ can be problematic. For instance, you can’t turn left onto the highway in the morning, you actually have to take a side road for about ¼ mile to make that turn. Once there you’ll find it’s not much better making that left turn as well. I learned to simply turn right and drive to the first intersection after the bridge to make a u-turn.
