Went up to the open air sports bar for happy hour. They serve great margarita's up there and the view of the bay is great. Antonio, the bartender, is the perfect host... he plays lively music and you can tell he really enjoys his job.

Not a resort but a poorly maintained hotel

Arrived, grabbed a luggage cart and it literally fell apart after I loaded it started to push it and I injured my foot. Reported it to the Front Desk manager immediately and when I complained through Expedia they said I never reported it. I showed the manager the cart and my foot ( I have pictures) and it took them 3 days to take the cart out of service. BIG LIE about not reporting it so I will write negative reviews for the next several months in the hopes of stopping people from booking this dump. This place is a run down hotel. Shower missing grout, sink faucet loose and dangling, you get either a hot shower or a shave but not both, floor tiles extremely worn and cracked and on and on. What they call sand is course gray pebbles so hard to walk on barefooted. Will give the cleaning staff 5 stars as they did an excellent job in cleaning the room. I was told this "resort" went bankrupt about 15 years ago and it shows that nothing has been maintained or updated since. BTW. When I sent the complaint to General Manager German Flores he replied in Spanish. It was a "do not reply" email so I couldn't let him know I don't speak or read Spanish. Typical of the whole operation.

We went to happy hour at the sports bar with a large group and Antonio did a great job. Not only were his margaritas the best we found in the area but he played a lot of great music. I recommend to anyone.

All the potential in the world to be a first class resort

The Loreto Bay resort has everything necessary to be a first class resort. However, years of neglect and insufficient traffic have lead to the hotel being somewhat less than its true potential. Don't get me wrong, I really like the resort and the price point is great. I am not even sure I want it to be fixed up more as then the price would go up as well and right now from my perspective Loreto Bay is a great deal. Our room had a view of the water, pool area and a nice terrace for sitting out and enjoying the afternoon. The room was clean and included a ceiling fan that allowed us to stay cool without too much use of the air conditioner. The downside of our room was that it really needed be refreshed with new flooring and a bit of TLC. The service in the breakfast room, pool and bar was just OK. The included breakfast was quite good with a wide assortment of US and Mexican dishes. The pool bar and sports bar prices for drinks were great for a resort hotel. The pool area and beach were very nice and clean. The beach is sandy and the water calm for swimming. They also provide things like bikes and kayaks for use at no charge. My only issue was with the front desk and the policy regarding upfront deposits for on property charges. Mine got messed up and I needed to waste an hour fixing things. This is really something that needs to be improved to avoid confusion - especially when I told them on check-in that I wanted to charge drinks and food to my room. Will I return? Most definitely. Do I recommend the Loreto Bay Resort? Sure if you want a great location and don't mind the hotels shorting coming. Also, it is best to rent a car as the hotel is 15 minutes from the center of Loreto.

This hotel did a wonderful job accommodating me and 30 members of my friends and family for my wedding at their hotel. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who wants to have a chill wedding. I'm from America and felt very safe at the resort (and the rest of loreto). My family and I had plenty to do with snorkeling, kayaking, paddle boarding around the resort. These are activities are all available at Loreto Bay Resort, and they give you a free hour each day of each activity!
