Fit the bill but in need of updates

AM L on Mar 14, 2024

The hotel was comfortable and the location wasn't too far from places of interest (via cab). My only major criticism is that I expected it to be higher end than it actually was. As a well-traveled New Yorker, I've stayed in a range of hotels. The Fiesta Americana felt dated (i.e. the room furniture and the mall kiosks in the sub lobby) and missed the finer touches of a higher end property (i.e. prompt and steady pool service). The main lobby has a few laptop/phone charging stations, so it is very much a business center. This makes FA ideal for larger groups or business travel. I was here for a friend's wedding, so it fit the bill. I would have wanted to stay someplace more updated and luxurious if I were traveling solo or with a smaller group.

Hotel, amenities and staff exceeded our expectations.

Juan Carlos F (South Padre Island, Texas) on Jan 22, 2024

So many pluses! Greeted by staff at arrival in the driveway. Took our luggage gave us a reciept and directed us to the underground free parking. Staff is extremely courteous and reach out and offer to help with orienting within the hotel. 3 Restauarants are very good and rates are comparable to lower priced American restaurants. The 5 story atrium is beautiful and has very comfortable seating areas with different types of sofas and chairs for different tastes and comfort levels. I highly recomend the levey we stayed in the FIESTA CLUB LEVEL, the extra cost is well worth it. It is on the top floor and has an exclusive Buffet, free breakfast which has an awesome selection of gourmet foods in the morning and Free beverages and food in the afternoon. we ate there several days of our stay saving at least 60 or 70 dollars in daily food tabs. We have stayed at about 6 of the other luxury hotels in Merida and this is the one I liked the most. We will return here every time we vist Merida. The service cleanliness and staff remind me of the old Hiltons is the USA that would consistently exceed yor expectations, such is the qualty of this hotel.

Great hotel at great price in a great location

Excellent hotel and great experience. First time in Mérida on a family vacation and couldn’t ask for a better hotel to stay at. Staff was courteous, friendly and had exceptional service. Hotel had all the amenities you could ask for: spa and massage services, great pool and huge hot tub. Gym was excellent and had a sauna and steam room. Relaxing after long days of sightseeing. Stayed on the 5th floor Fiesta Club and the food options there were outstanding. The service and service was amazing considering the price. And let’s not forget the hotel itself was beautiful. Convenient parking garage on sight and a shopping mall to stroll through. Would stay here again if we come back to Merida.

Nice Hotel

monterreyjack (Austin, Texas) on Nov 07, 2023

Nice hotel with friendly service. I've stayed in Fiesta Americana hotels a lot and know generally what to expect. This one lives up to the high Americana standards. It is in a good location, near good restaurants, but not in the central area of town. Beds are very comfortable and rooms are nice. The bar had live music on Friday night and the band was great. Across the street is an outdoor restaurant that also had live music at night. The first floor of the Fiesta Americana hotel is all shops, so the actual hotel lobby is on the next floor. At the top of the escalator, in the lobby, there will be one or two people who will approach you and offer to help you with anything. They are very nice, but their goal is to sell you something like a timeshare. We refused to talk to them about that, so we never got the full explanation. We also got a phone call in our room, from the same people, telling us they had a free gift for us. We did ask these people for recommendations of local activities and they were very nice and helpful. Included was a light breakfast and snacks/drinks on the fifth floor. This was very convenient and the food was simple, but good. The only real surprise we had was at check out. We found that there is a charge for the self serve coffee in the room. I never use anything from the mini-bar or anything in the room that has an extra cost. I do not remember seeing anything about the coffee costing something. So many other places it is free/included. The hotel did reduce our charge for the coffee, but be aware that there is a charge.
