Looks nice. I just wish they had English speaking channel options because when I was in my room, I wanted to watch tv and was told to watch on Chrome tv and I couldn’t get it to work… the only problem I had. Oh my room did not have a tub, so pay attention to that.
Beautiful city - Poor Hotel stay

Firstly Merida is a great place to visit and lots to discover and as a city we loved it. However, as my first time staying n a Hyatt Regency hotel and I was very disappointed. The rooms, although large have no character and are soulless. The mini bar had not a mini anything inside, it was empty and the coffee perculator, which offers free coffee, had no coffee pot although tea bags and nescafe were available. The bathroom was crampled and not designed well, with the toilet facing the front of the sink. The club lounge was not worth the additional price we paid as the food was of poor quality and the environment felt like a sterile hospital cafe and not at all like the type of club lounges I have used at other hotels and would expected higher quality from the Hyatt. Staff were polite but not engaging all heads down at all times, whilst they tapped away on their computers looking ever so NOT busy. Location: too far from down town Merida, if you are on business this is a good hotel but if you are vacationing make sure you stay in a hotel closer to Merida center. The bus tour is cheap but but not at all interesting. A spainish/english speaking guide who looked exghausted, and we felt could not be bothered to explain anything and spent most of his time saying nothing. Not worth the hour and a half of our time when we could have been doing something far more interesting as Merida is full of history and some great places to eat. Casa Maya and Salon Merida were excellent and highly recommended. Lots of activity in Merida and it really is a beautiful town. Everyone is so friendly and if you need help or directions the police so helpful and friendly and will escort you so you dont get lost. Lots of intersting things to buy and great indoor craft markets. You need to be prepared to haggle if you really want to buy something but its all part of being in Mexico and most vendors will start high but then accept what you are prepared to pay. Overall a great trip to Merida and a great starting point if you want to visit Chitzen Itza and other temples.
